Last night was a good evening despite the 2 hours of film travisty that was The Forth Kind. After ignoring the poor reviews of the film on various sites and a more then shocking radio advert, I was still very happy to be going out and meeting up with some great people who I hadn't seen in ages.
The Fourth Kind is a 'based on true events' thriller investigating alien abductions. It has various real audio and video segments interlaced with dramatisations of the events to embelish the few facts that they have. The thing that people who watch this have to remember, is it is a movie, that is based in fiction, not a documentary based in fact. This film has an agenda, and wants you to believe that it is real. The main character, played by Ultraviolet and Resident Evil actress Milla Jovovich in the flash backs, is the only person involved in this film that actually 'lived' the experience, with every other alias refusing to have any involvment.
The overacting in this film is aparent from the start and really stops you from enjoying what little plot there is. There are no twists, turns or bumps in this film, just a solid line of paranoia and fear mongering.
